Starling Beauty

  • Task: Record and edit beauty tip videos
  • Client: StarlingBeauty.com
  • Tools used: Final Cut 7, Panasonic AVCCAM

During my last semester at BYU-Idaho, I worked as an intern for startup Starling Beauty. My duties centered primarily on video production, with 12-hour days of using Final Cut Pro 7 to edit together different videos. While makeup was not the most interesting subject to me, this internship helped me learn the ins and outs of Final Cut and video editing. I also strengthened my ability to interview and craft a compelling story.

Like most startups, Starling Beauty soon went under — but the time I spent there and the things I learned were pivotal to jumpstarting my career and shaping my professional goals.
